Welcome to Home for Good Horse Sanctuary
Home for Good Horse Sanctuary is a permanent safe haven to a few of the thousands of unwanted horses in the United States.
Horses have served humans throughout history and are often thrown away when they are unable to serve us any longer.
Home For Good Horse Sanctuary was created in gratitude for their service. The horses who come to the Sanctuary live the rest of their life being served.

Much research was done to determine what horses need and want in their environment. Studying horses living in the wild tells us a lot about what they would choose. The horses at the Sanctuary live in community. They have large, open spaces for grazing and playing, trees for shade and scratching and a spacious, open barn for shelter. There are few demands placed on them by humans and they are restrained only when being cared for by the vet or farrier.

The horses at the sanctuary have willingly participated in programs with parenting and pregnant teens, children with autism and camps for pre-teen girls.  They continue to enjoy interacting with the many others who come out to experience being with horses at liberty.

In September 2003, Cindy met her first horse,TJ, who inspired her to create the unique setting that became Home For Good Horse Sanctuary. TJ was often lame, always stubborn and not the friendliest or most collaborative horse. No one wanted TJ and Cindy started to wonder where unwanted horses went. In 2006, Cindy and her husband Scott purchased the land for the Sanctuary and in 2010 the Sanctuary was granted non-profit 501(c)(3) status. Over the years, 13 horses have made the Sanctuary their permanent home while 7 were with us for a short time when they needed a place to live.
